All it takes to decorate your dining and coffee table is a little bit of enthusiasm. If you want to make every meal feel special and surprise your guests on the next in-house gathering, here are some simple DIY table decor ideas that will brighten up your living room and make for a warm and welcoming atmosphere. 

Romantic

Nothing makes for a better romantic atmosphere as the combination of flowers and candles. If you enjoy a subtle decor that makes for a romantic atmosphere and brings an opulent scent then you should opt for flowers with floating candles table arrangement. 

Supplies:

  • Cylinder vase (or several preferably of different height)
  • Round floating candles
  • Artificial Orchid of the preferred color
  • Vase fillers (crystals, pearls, shells, send) 
  • Submersible LEDs – optional
  • Water

Steps:

  1. Add the fillers to the bottom of the vase, make sure the vase is spotless
  2. If you choose to add a LED light, turn it on and put it to the bottom of the vase slightly covered with fillers
  3. Measure the orchids to the height of the vase and cut it to fit
  4. Pur the distilled water in the wase but make sure to leave space for the candle
  5. Add the floating cable last and light it

The rustic design and decoration bring warmth and timeless elegance that make for a very special atmosphere. It is very easy to create a rustic centerpiece and it is still the most noticeable and universally likable. 

Supplies:

  • A wooden slice (pick a size according to your table)
  • Old rustic glasses
  • Glass candle holders
  • Decorative rope
  • White lace
  • Wite candles
  • Decorative artificial or natural flowers 
  • Pines

Steps:

  1. Use the lace and decorative rope to decorate the glasses and candle holders. Round some with rope and some with lace as preferred
  2. Add the candles in the holders and place them on the wooden slice
  3. Add water in the glasses and add the picked flowers inside. Put them on the wooden slice also
  4. Arrange the parts as preferred and decorate with pines put between candle holders and glasses with flowers
  5. Throw several petals on the surface of the wood, light up the candles and enjoy!

Modern

Less is more when it comes to modern and sophisticated table decoration. The minimalist design makes for clean and elegant looking home decor. To achieve this avoid the candles and flowers and opt for an unusual object or assemble several objects to create decor.

Options:

  1. Add a compact and graphic cactus that will always make for unusual shapes and appearance in a beautiful looking bowl as a centerpiece. 
  2. Do you own a special sculpture? Or maybe you have a great taste for artistic glassware of crystalware. Take it out and make it a modern centerpiece decoration.
  3. Assemble objects that express your personality. If you have a big dining table or decorative coffee tables, choose a wooden tray or use big books as a tray and random objects that you like. Maybe add a small table lamp, rocks and souvenirs in a modern assembly.

Natural

Many women and housewives will agree that nothing makes a better centerpiece than a bowl filled with edible decorations, like a lot of fruit. Especially if you have kids, making a food display will certainly make them desire to eat more of the colorful fruit. Fruit, vegetables and several other natural materials are excellent supplies for a beautifully decorated table. 

Supplies:

  • A cake stand
  • A big glass bowl
  • Seasonal fruit 
  • Artificial orange, lime of lemon circles
  • Green leafy vegetables

Steps:

  1. Add the cleaned and dry glass bowl on the case stand.
  2. Add the artificial fruit circles on the surface of the bowl from the inside making a display.
  3. Add the green leaves on the edges of the bowl so they can pop out to make for a casual appearance
  4. Fill the bowl with the edible seasonal fruit of choice on top

As you take out the fruit to eat it you can resupply it not messing up with the beautiful display made from the artificial fruit. Green leaves can also be replaced when used or withered.

Flowers are not only pleasing for the eye they bring a specific fragrance in the home and gather everyone around the table. Flower centerpieces can be arranged in every type of setting from modern, rustic to minimal and can be combined with any other piece of decor per preference. Here is one flower centerpiece idea, easy to create and suitable for every occasion and home. 

Option 1 – Perfume Vases

Supplies:

  • Empty perfume glass bottles from used perfumes or decorative glass vases in different shape and size
  • Decorative cloth or round wooden slice
  • Decorative ribbons of the preferred color
  • Flowers recommended: the wonderful and fragrant lily of the valley or purple lilacs

Steps:

  • Once you’ve gathered a variety of vials, clean them thoroughly with soap and mild vinegar
  • Decorate the vials with the chosen decorative ribbon, lace or ropes
  • Position the vials on the cloth or wooden slice on the table
  • Fill with water and add the chosen flowers

Floral

Option 2 – Teacup Vases

Supplies:

  • Several old teacups with sauces or specifically chosen porcelain teacups for the arrangement
  • Rosebud blooms 
  • Moss and faux eucalyptus

Steps:

  • In well-cleaned teacups add water and rosebuds.
  • Arrange with the artificial eucalyptus and fill in with moss to make for a rich appearance
  • Fill in as much cups as you want and place them scattered in the center of the table

*Tip: Plant primroses in a larger teacup filled with soil. Place it on a round tray decorated with green moss. Cover the beautiful arrangement with a glass cloche for a perfect mini teacup garden on your home table. Only, make sure the primroses get enough light to bloom and last longer in the beautiful DIY display.
