With the advent of science, technology, and all other branches of knowledge, there has been a renewed desire for doctrines explaining life and the afterlife, materialism and spiritualism, the present world, and the world after death. There are hundreds of theories and metaphysical supplies leading to hundreds of conclusions.

But there is one thing in common— they all promote traits like honesty, integrity, self-sacrifice, accountability, kindness while discouraging hate, selfishness, jealousy, or self-conceit.

Here is the point: what is good is good for all. Deep down, everyone knows the truth. And that’s the perspective of spiritual awakening we will be focusing on in this article.

All along, we’ll be avoiding the superficial and theoretical discussions like definitions, similarities, differences, and ‘how many kinds.’

We’ll straightway get to the point: how do we experience a spiritual awakening?

Get the Mindset

Mindset 1: Get Prepared

Just as you need to prepare for any exam, competition, or getting a job, you need to prepare yourself for the awakening of your spirituality.

We all are very powerfully captivated by our worldly achievement’s hectic routine, which is the most vital hindrance to our spiritual awakening. Awakening the kundalini can be an incredible tool for healing and self-improvement, allowing for lasting positive change that you can achieve if you engage in spiritual practices like daily meditation, energy exercises, and self-test to see if you are going through stages of kundalini awakening.

Getting prepared for a series of spiritual activities is the simple job of turning on a switch within you that will continuously keep you aware that you will be in the process of something different from what you are habituated to.

You need to change a part of your routine, achieve some traits, and get rid of others, which will transform you entirely. This transformation, however, calls for preparation.

Mindset 2: Take Pains

The process of spiritual development is no less painful than any sort of achievement of worldly prosperity. Sometimes it’s somewhat harder, mysterious, and it takes time to accomplish. No one might be with you. Even at one point, the whole world may seem to impede your advancement at every step. You cannot blame the world, either. The world has long been shaped to act like that.

Mindset 3: Struggle Not to Lose

The path of spiritual achievement is dangerously slippery. It’s tough to hold on. A single mistake of being rude to your parents or telling a simple lie could ruin months of your spiritual pursuit.

Towards the end of the article, however, we’ll try to shed some light on reducing this risk.

What do You Practically Do?

Ever since you were born, and until the time you die, you have relations with so many people around you. You will have relationships with your parents and family members, friends, and others in society and your workplace. All influence you, more or less, in different ways and to different degrees. You cannot ignore their effects during your spiritual pursuit. So your plan must not be centered around just yourself. It must have the gracious greatness of including whoever is related to you. You have got to do something for everyone to see the fulfillment of your spiritual awakening.

Let’s tell it in short. You have three stages of your spiritual awakening. And you need to focus on all three stages at the same time. You just cannot leave any part of it, or it will ruin your whole program at any time.

  • Enhance yourself
  • Build up your family
  • Work among your relatives and within the society you live in.

Enhance Yourself

This is the first step to achieve the power of spirituality. It has got two subprograms.

The first one is to practice and grow some values within you— values that you think are positive and good for you and others. For example, you can focus on the followings:

  • Generosity
  • Loyalty
  • Integrity
  • Kindness
  • Loving
  • Devotion
  • Peacefulness
  • Self-control
  • Sincerity
  • Determination
  • Patience
  • Faithfulness
  • Fairness
  • Adventurous
  • Persistence
  • Optimism
  • Tolerance
  • Cooperation

You are free to include some more values in the list or exclude some from the list. But you need to stick to your plan.

The second part of your personal program is practicing some sort of meditation. For example, the Silva Method is an excellent method of increasing and enhancing the positive powers within you. If you practice any such technique every day, you will hold on to the spiritual awakening, and the chance of slipping off will come down remarkably.

Build Up your Family

While practicing the values listed above, you’ll automatically get involved in educating and helping your family members. You just cannot walk alone. Suppose any of your family members has one or more of the dark sides of character like dishonesty, meanness, unkindness, abrasiveness, rudeness, cruelty, pessimism, selfishness, narcissism, or an unforgiving attitude. In that case, you just cannot proceed with your program uninterrupted and undisturbed. That’s why you need to help your family in the best possible way just to have their help back.

Your first aim will be to include them in your pursuit. When all of you run together, you get power and steady speed. If you cannot do it, you should create an environment in your family that supports your program. Once you have spontaneous support and cooperation from your family, you know nothing can stop you.

Work Among Your Friends and Relatives

By now, you may have realized that I am strongly suggesting you start a complete mission of reformation among those you know. Yes, to have a spiritual awakening means an all-out effort that extends to everyone you know. Wherever you go, you manifest who you are, what you’ve chosen to be, and what you want others to be. You don’t need to deliver lectures. Your nature and personality will deliver your message to whoever comes in contact with you.  You will embody the message without having to utter a word about it.

Build up a Community

That’s something few people will likely suggest you do. But this is the source of power that will keep you always alive with your spiritual program.

First, find a friend and fellow who has the same goal. Unite with him and try to increase members of your community. Increase interaction within your community. Together you can simply be unstoppable.
